Videos are great for marketing your product or your website. You can even create video lessons or video courses to sell. You might be thinking that creating video content requires a lot of skill or a lot of money. In this article I’ll tell you how you can create a video using PowerPoint and a few free tools.
If you want to put together a quick video to teach a lesson here is what you need to do. First, write out your content in article form. Try to have at least three different points to which you will expand upon.
Write out your introduction followed by your three points. Once you are finished save it as a text file in Notepad. The reason you need to save it in Notepad is because PowerPoint can open a text file and format it for you. Next go into PowerPoint and open your text file. You will see that PowerPoint automatically places each paragraph on its own slide. At this point you are pretty much half way done.
Now you need to use a screen capture software to record your video. There are several free ones that you can use such as Jing (jingproject.com) or CamStudio (camstudio.org). Jing only allows you to record 5 minute videos, so if you are creating a video longer then that, it’s best to use CamStudio.
If you are trying to make your video fancy by adding transitions and the like, then you should consider investing in Camtasia Studio by Techsmith. Camtasia will allow you to polish up your video before you show it to the world. You will be able to add images, sound, effects and an array of other things that will make your video look super cool. You get a 30-day free trial. 30 days is more than enough time to create your video. If you plan on making video content a huge part of your marketing plan, purchasing Camtasia is well worth the investment. Otherwise just stick to the free software programs. They will suffice. Once you have your video complete, it’s time to upload it to video sharing sites such as YouTube, Veoh, Viddler and Revver. If you plan on selling it, then upload it to sales sites like E-junkie or ClickBank and start selling!
